LIFT GATE OPERATIONS
  1. When not in immediate use, the lift gate should be lowered to grade level or returned to a stowed position.
  2. In areas of limited visibility or pedestrian traffic, lift gates should be marked, coned, or highlighted so they can be visible to passersby.
  3. LIFT GATES SHOULD NOT EXTEND INTO STREETS, DOORWAYS OR WALKWAYS.
  4. Read and follow WARNING DECALS, OPERATION DECALS, and OWNER'S MANUAL.
  5. Visually inspect the system for damage and defects prior to use.
  6. Be certain vehicle is properly and securely braked before using the lift gate.
  7. All loads should be secured prior to lifting or lowering gate.
  8. Don't allow the lift gate to be used by persons not familiar with its operation.
  9. Don't overload the lift gate. (Refer to the capacity chart for proper capacity of lift gate.)
  10. Make certain that platform area is clear before, and at all times during, operation of the lift gate.
  11. Make certain platform is properly latched when in transit.
  12. Lift gate should be clear of slip and trip hazards.
